The member trustees are elected by the CRF members, and the councillor trustees are elected by employer representatives. This ensures that the board is well balanced and acts in the best interest of all stakeholders.
Trustees of the Fund have a responsibility to ensure that the CRF is managed in a transparent and fair manner. Some of these duties include:
- To act in the best interest of the member by ensuring the interests of MEMBERS in terms of the RULES and the provisions of the ACT are protected at all times.
- Keeping a close eye on all service providers to ensure your assets are managed properly and according to legislation.
The Fund is currently being managed by an interim Board appointed by the Registrar of Pension Funds, until a revised election procedure is approved for the election of member representatives elected by all members. Member trustees have in the past been elected following an indirect election process.
Mr JP Beukman – ex Member Trustee Eastern Cape, resigned on 28 February 2019.
